The Nebraska State Patrol and the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a crash that took place on Jan. 24 and resulted in two fatalities. The accident occurred at around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 77 and Highway 92 when a pickup truck heading north collided with a car traveling west.
The 29-year-old female driver of the car suffered fatal injuries. Her 32-year-old male passenger was taken to Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln by medical helicopter, but he eventually succumbed to his injuries on Jan. 29. The driver of the pickup, a 43-year-old man from Osceola, was released from Saunders County Medical Center after receiving treatment. Authorities are still investigating what caused the wreck.
