A Jan. 24 car accident that occurred at approximately 10 a.m. near Wahoo resulted in the death of a 29-year old woman. She was driving a car through the intersection of Nebraska Highway 92 and U.S. Highway 77 at the time, heading west and carrying a 32-year-old male passenger. The car collided with a pickup truck that was traveling north, driven by a 43-year-old Osceola man.
The passenger in the car suffered severe injuries and was transported by air to a hospital in Lincoln, where he was later listed as being in critical condition. Meanwhile, the man driving the pickup suffered minor injuries, which were treated at an area medical center. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the site of the accident. Authorities were at work in the aftermath of the incident to investigate.
