On Aug. 2, a car accident that occurred on Interstate 80 in Nebraska left one man dead. The man was identified as a 35-year-old from Omaha.
Around 4:30 p.m., a 21-year-old man was reportedly driving west near Ashland when an SUV suddenly cut the car off. The driver swerved in an attempt to avoid an accident. The driver then allegedly overcorrected, which caused the vehicle to roll over. The driver of the SUV did not stop.
The deceased victim was a passenger in the front seat when the car crashed. He was killed due to the injuries he suffered. The four other individuals who were in the car, including the driver, were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening. At the time of the report, authorities were still investigating the incident and searching for the SUV that was thought to be involved.
All car accidents can result in serious injuries that can include broken bones, brain injury and damage to internal organs. If the injuries are severe enough, they could have an impact on the person for the rest of their lives.
