On July 4, it was reported that two people were killed and a third person was injured in a head-on car crash in Nebraska. The accident reportedly occurred on State Highway 39 at about 1 a.m.
Authorities believed that a 24-year-old man was driving a passenger car when he entered a ditch on the side of the road. He reportedly attempted to correct the vehicle and ultimately crossed over the yellow line into oncoming traffic. His vehicle collided head-on with a pickup truck that was being driven by a 40-year-old woman. Both the 24-year-old man and the 40-year-old woman did not survive. A young girl was also in the pickup truck at the time the accident took place and was transported to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
